The Impact of Behavioral Factors on Trading Addiction: An Empirical Study on the Investors in Egyptian Stock Market

Abstract
This study aims to examine the impact of behavioral factors (overconfidence -representativeness bias - regret aversion - mental accounting - herd behavior) on dimensions of trading addiction (gambling - compulsive buying) from the perspective of Egyptian Stock Market Investors. A sample of 384 Investors was obtained from the population of Investors in the Egyptian Stock Market; the response rate of the sample selected was 76.3%. The results of the statistical analysis showed that there is a significant impact of behavioral factors (overconfidence - representative bias - regret aversion - mental accounting - herd behavior) on dimensions of trading addiction (gambling - compulsive buying). The overconfidence & herd behavior dimensions had the greatest impact in increasing gambling from the perspective of Egyptian investors under study while the herd behavior and regret aversion dimensions had the greatest
impact in increasing compulsive buying from the perspective of Egyptian investors under study.
